Privacy Policy
Effective July 6, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information PatternForge collects, how we use it, and the choices you have regarding your data. We believe software should collect as little personal information as possible. PatternForge is designed to be local-first, meaning much of your work stays on your own device unless you choose to use cloud features. By using PatternForge, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
Who we are
PatternForge is operated by HyBee3D LLC. If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or wish to exercise your privacy rights, contact us at [email protected].
Information we collect
Account information. When you create an account, we collect information such as:
- Email address
- Encrypted or securely hashed authentication credentials
- Account preferences
We never store your password in plain text.
Social sign-in (optional). If you choose to sign in using Google, we receive basic profile information such as your name and email address to create or match your account. We do not access your contacts, post on your behalf, or access information beyond what you authorize.
Projects, photos, and patterns. PatternForge is designed to work primarily on your device. Project files, uploaded reference photos, and patterns are generally stored locally within your browser. If project sync is offered in the future and you choose to use it, we will store the project data and referenced photo files needed for that feature. The current phone-photo handoff stores only the photos you deliberately upload to your account. Creating a download sends the project to our export service for processing, but download history is not a stored copy of the generated PDF, SVG, or ZIP. You retain ownership of everything you upload.
Subscription information. If you subscribe to Premium, payments are securely processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your full payment card information. We maintain records related to your subscription, billing status, invoices, and plan eligibility.
Technical information. To help operate and secure PatternForge, we receive limited technical information needed for security and service operation, including:
- IP address
- Browser and device information
- Operating system
- Error logs
- Security logs
This information helps us prevent abuse and troubleshoot failures. We do not currently run production product-usage analytics or record project names, images, geometry, labels, filenames, or notes as analytics events.
How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Provide PatternForge services
- Authenticate your account
- Save projects on your device and store phone-capture photos you choose to upload
- Synchronize projects only if a future project-sync feature is offered and you choose to use it
- Deliver downloads and exports
- Process subscription payments
- Enforce subscription limits and licensing
- Respond to support requests
- Improve performance, reliability, and security
- Detect fraud or abuse
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your uploaded photos, patterns, or projects to train artificial intelligence or machine learning models.
When we share information
We share information only when necessary to operate PatternForge. Our service providers may process data on our behalf, subject to contractual obligations requiring them to protect your information. These providers may include:
- Cloudflare (hosting, databases, storage, security, content delivery)
- Stripe (payment processing)
- Google (only if you choose Google sign-in)
- Cloudflare Email Service (account verification and password resets)
We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect our legal rights, users, or the security of PatternForge. We do not sell or rent your personal information.
Cookies
PatternForge uses only the cookies and local storage necessary to operate the service. These may include:
- Authentication cookies
- Session cookies
- Security cookies
- Local browser storage for your projects
We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking cookies. If we introduce optional analytics in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly.
Data security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect your information. These include secure connections (HTTPS), encrypted data transmission, secure password hashing, and access controls.
No internet service can be completely secure, but we continually work to protect your information.
Data retention
We retain personal information only as long as necessary to provide the service and comply with legal obligations.
An account-deletion request starts a 30-day recovery window. If you do not log back in during that window, we remove account data and cloud-stored project files after the window, except records we must retain for legal, billing, tax, fraud-prevention, or security reasons.
Projects stored only on your own device remain under your control.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights including the ability to:
- Access your personal information
- Correct inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your information
- Request a copy of your data
- Object to certain processing where applicable
You may also delete your account at any time through your account settings. If you need assistance, contact [email protected].
International data transfers
PatternForge operates from the United States. Our service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required by applicable law, we rely on appropriate safeguards for international data transfers.
Children's privacy
PatternForge is not intended for children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as PatternForge evolves. If we make material changes, we will update the Effective Date above and provide notice within the application when appropriate.
Your continued use of PatternForge after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
