What your file licence allows
Effective July 6, 2026
Every PDF and SVG you download carries a licence line in its footer. The licence belongs to the file, not your account — it never expires, even if your plan changes.
Policy review in progress. These draft terms are not approved for a marketing launch yet. The licence embedded in a specific downloaded file and the current Terms control until this page receives final legal approval.
Personal use
free accountsWatermarked files
- Sew for yourself, family and gifts — unlimited items
- Print as many copies as you need, keep files forever
- Keep and reprint the files you have downloaded
- Don't sell the file, or items made from it
- Don't remove, hide or crop the watermark
- Don't share or post the file publicly
Commercial
PremiumClean files with an optional Beta brand footer
- Everything in personal use
- Sell the pattern file — your shop, your site, your price
- Sell finished items, no unit limits, no royalties
- Optional Beta brand footer: generated monogram, brand name and shop URL on supported files
- Don't resell files you didn't digitize, or claim the tool made them by hand
The licence travels with the file. A pattern exported while Premium stays commercial forever — even if your subscription ends. New downloads after Premium ends are watermarked personal-use files again. Your work is never deleted or locked.
Always yours: your designs (PatternForgeclaims no rights over patterns you digitize), your local projects, and every file you've already downloaded — under the licence it shipped with. Questions? Contact [email protected].
